The Nike Lebron 7 Rushes In With Red White And Blue Colourway

Nike SB AF2 ‘Red, White and Blue’ Sneaker Unboxing with Mr B

The Nike LeBron 7 is set to rush onto the scene in a neat red, white and blue colourway, with intricate fern detailing on the mudguards to elevate the aesthetic. First spotted on LeBron James back in September last year, and referred to then by the Los Angeles Lakers Twitter account as being an LA Dodgers scheme, the design is expected to get a public release fairly soon.

Dressed in white, Rush Blue and University Red, its a strong colour combo for the LeBron 7, a silhouette that was named by Sneaker Freaker as one that ruled the court during the 2019/20 NBA season.

First hitting the scene way back in 2009, the LeBron 7 was the first Air Max shoe in LeBrons signature line, and was also the first time one of his shoes featured Flywire. And it has enjoyed a strong retro run in the last year or so, emerging in remakes of the Chlorine Blue All-Star, and Christ the King, as well as modern renditions such as the Fairfax and the Lakers Home and Away.

Exact release details for this LeBron 7 remain unclear right now, but pairs are expected to hit stores within the next couple of months. And the arrival of official pics often means a release is not too far away.

The Start Of It All: Nike Air Max 1

The genesis of Air Max was inspired by, of all things, Parisian architecture. Tinker Hatfield was visiting the Centre Georges Pompidou, a modern art museum in the heart of Paris. The building appeared to be turned inside out: scaffolding and support structures, typically buried within a façade, lined the outside of the building, and a tubular staircase ran diagonally up the exterior. It was vulnerable, rebellious, and it threw away convention. Hatfield left Paris with an idea for the Air Max 1.

Back at Nike headquarters, Hatfield showed executives his designs for a shoe with the midsole cut away to reveal an enlarged Air pod. The designs started mayhem. Half of the company thought it would ruin Nike, while the other half thought it was revolutionary. But Hatfield stuck to his designs and eventually the Air Max 1 hit the market.
