Youve hooked them in with your title, theyve scrolled through the photos, and now theyre reading your description.
Youre unlikely to be the only one selling your particular sneakers, so you have to stand out. Think of the copy as what a salesperson might say in a store thats how you want to come across.
Firstly, the details you have to include:
- Brand, color and model. Use the exact colorway description if you can e.g. University Red, Safari etc. because this will enable accurate searches.
- Sizing in US/EU/UK, because buyers could be from anywhere.
- Condition e.g. New with tags , New without tags , Like New, Worn Once, Hardly worn, Used in good condition, Used with signs of wear. If there are specific marks, call these out e.g. Small stain on toe, please see photos for more.
- With original box
- Materials: nubuck suede, leather, mesh etc.
If you can find your sneaker listed by the brand or retailer, it can be time efficient to copy parts of the official description, especially when it comes to materials and colors.
Secondly, these are the details which will personalise your description:
- Why youre selling them: too big/small, closet clear-out, dont wear enough.
- Who they would work for: To add bright colors to your rotation.
- Outfit suggestions: These look great with sweats for a cosy look.
Add in anything else you think is relevant after all, youre selling yourself as much as the sneakers.

Ever since the first pair of Nike or Adidas shoes hit the market, there has been a desire to acquire the latest pair of Jordans or Yeezys.
In todays world, that passion no longer requires you to actually visit a shoe store. Now there are apps that allow you to buy and sell the latest shoes on your cellphone.
During the recent Black Friday craze, many MC students seemed obsessed with the app known as GOAT as they attempted to score those cheap new Adidas Yeezys or Nike Jordans.
Mount Carmel seniors like Nick Gulotta and Diego Torres have taken full advantage of this opportunity, and feel like the GOAT app is reliable.
Its really a trustworthy app and I use it all the time, says Torres
GOAT is an online marketplace for people to resell used or new shoes. You list the shoes youd like to sell, then send those shoes to GOAT who verifies them and makes sure theyre in prime condition. Afterwards the shoes are sold to a customer, with the money going to users like Torres.
Senior Nick Gulotta started using GOAT when it first came out in 2015. While he was hesitant to use it right away, he soon determined that the app was legit. Gulotta estimates he has made about $4,000 dollars from selling his used and new shoes on GOAT.
Gulotta and Torres both intend to continue using this app.
Gulotta noted, GOAT is probably something Ill be using as long as Im dealing with shoes.

How Do I Sign Up To Sell If I Am In Mainland China
We are currently allowing sellers in Mainland China to sign up to sell on GOAT by invitation only.
If you are approved to sell on GOAT, you must add both a verified phone number and a buyer address to your account. You can add a phone number to your account on the Profile tab of the app, and you can add a buyer address by going to the checkout page for an item as a buyer. Your buyer address must include your full legal name, Chinese ID number, and address. We will use this information for customs clearance purposes, so when you are entering your information, please make sure everything is accurate and correct.
Goat Provides Faster Shipping
Sneakerheads want their sneakers as fast as possible. The problem is that hype sneakers cannot be found at local retail stores. This means they must wait for sneakers to be delivered from online platforms like Goat and StockX.

After your account is approved for selling, you can tap the Sell tab to list your items. Start by searching for the SKU, which can be found on the box or inside the item, enter the condition, price and take the required photos. Sellers listing items that are used or new with defects or who have a seller rating below 100 are required to take photos.
Some Common And Costly Mistakes
Although I had done my research, I was still in over my head and had a lot to learn. After my biggest month, I made some preventable mistakes that nearly caused me to lose everything I had earned.
First, I ended up with some fakes and it was a mess trying to get my money back from the seller or PayPal.
