The Gucci Tennis 1977 Sneaker
Stella von Senger
What do I appreciate most about the Gucci Tennis 1977 sneaker? I think its got to be its retro vibe. Or, this colorways use of eco-washed denim. I remain hopeful that this sustainable practice will be the standard for every denim product in the near future.
Anyway, back to the sneaker. The Gucci Tennis 1977 is funky and sporty, and this denim colorway adorned with Guccis instantly recognisable motif looks as though its been transported from the 00s. The Gucci Tennis 1977s are one of those pairs that one can wear with almost anything hence, I believe theyre destined to become my new go-tos. As a working mum of two, Im extremely grateful for practical, unfussy designs.
Styling: Sometimes, I like to get brave and combine statement pieces. I enjoy mixing prints and challenging myself to pull off the boldest fits. In my opinion, getting dressed is more fun if you unexpectedly combine pieces. Today, Ive decided to pair the Gucci Tennis 1977 sneakers with a fun Disney x Gucci sweatshirt for an outfit that feels like me.
Sizing and fit: I would recommend opting for your true size when it comes to selecting a pair of Gucci Tennis 1977 sneakers. However, if you have broader feet, I would recommend sizing up half a size as they are a little narrow.
Comfort and care: On a comfort scale of 1 to 10, I would give the Gucci Tennis 1977 sneaker a 9 however, I have a sneaky feeling this will become a 10 once Ive broken them in a little.

Finding The Right Shoes For You
Today, vintage and designer shoes by the likes of Chanel, Gucci or Versace are integral to completing your carefully orchestrated street-style or evening ensemble, but footwear wasnt always the big deal it is for your average Adidas Yeezy enthusiast.
The decorative floor-length gowns that upper-class women of the 18th century wore meant that their shoes, then likely featuring high curved heels finished with woven or embroidered silks a sharp contrast to the heavy, rudimentary form of the eras footwear for men were partially or entirely obscured by the base of their ornate dresses. What good is fashion if its tucked away?
Our modern ages legions of sneakerheads might have trouble tracking down a pair of black-and-gold vintage Jordans but can at least fill their dream closets with original Adidas Gazelles or 1980s New Balances if they put the time in, while 1990s-era Prada pumps or a good pair of mid-20th-century jewel-tone heels in satin or silk havent lost their allure with todays nostalgic fashionistas.
A pair of shoes can commemorate an achievement, mark an important trip overseas and is sometimes a rich manifestation of a hard-won physical feat. Whether theyre Hermès sandals, Off-White ankle boots, ivory-leather-and-pink-daisy heels by sublime shoemakerManolo Blahnik or Louboutin platform pumps, you can find your next pair of legendary luxury vintage shoes today on 1stDibs.

Gucci Biography And Important Works
Long before trend-bucking creative director Alessandro Michele brought his hallucinatory Utopian Fantasy campaign to Gucci, it was a modest Italian leather shop. Today, its an internationally renowned luxury house with an iconic logo, and vintage Gucci clothing, handbags and shoes are among high fashion’s most covetable goods.
Guccio Gucci admired the stylish suitcases he saw wealthy guests arrive with at the Savoy Hotel in London, where he worked as a bellhop. So, in 1921, after a stint at Franzi, a luggage company in his hometown of Florence, he opened a leather goods shop of his own.
At first, Guccis Florence business specialized in equestrian accessories. But as its reputation flourished, particularly among the English aristocracy, so too did its footprint. In 1938, he brought three of his sons Aldo, Vasco and Rodolfo into the business and expanded it to Rome and later Milan. In the mid-1930s, a League of Nations embargo against Italy pushed Gucci to experiment with alternatives to imported leather. Its woven hemp fabric from Naples, adorned with the brands signature diamond print, was a hit, especially among A-list celebrities. The material was first used on suitcases before finding enduring popularity on handbags.

The Gucci Tennis 1977 Slip
The Gucci Tennis 1977 Slip-On Sneaker is a modern interpretation of the quintessential 70s tennis shoe, finished with the fashion Houses timeless monogram. The silhouette is clean, simplistic and subtle, which makes it ideal for dressing up and down how you choose to style will depend on the occasion.
My favorite details about the slip-on sneakers are those that aren’t visible. For example, the insole is crafted with a tennis-inspired cloth and the inside of the shoe features unique padding that gives it a super plush feel.
Styling: The Gucci Tennis 1977 sneaker integrates perfectly into my style. Although I have a jam-packed wardrobe of stylish pieces, I tend to wear similar, simple outfits on a day-to-day basis. I believe these sneakers will look great paired with an earth-toned sweatsuit as the neutral shades will harmonize well with the sneakers. In spite of that, today I’ve decided to go for something a little more colorful. Here, Im wearing Gucci head to toe: clashing materials patterns and colors to create an unforgettable ensemble that Alessandro Michele himself would be proud of.
Comfort and care: The Gucci Tennis 1977 sneaker is one of the most comfortable designer sneakers Ive ever had the pleasure of wearing. And the best part is that they grow more comfortable with each wear.

The insanely stylish Gucci Rhyton sneaker is classic and contemporary. Its an elegant take on the dadcore trend thats sure to be popular for decades to come, and this specific colorway unites a variety of prints to enhance the familiar silhouette.
Like most footwear enthusiasts, I rarely wear the same pair of sneakers every day I have seasonal sneaker rotations to provide versatility and extend each shoes lifetime. If you dont already rotate your shoes and sneakers, Id recommend starting today!
Styling: Despite the kicks busy aesthetic, I find these sneakers work with a lot of pieces in my wardrobe. Here, Im wearing a full-blown Gucci outfit, driven by a modish brown color palette. The ensemble is composed of an embroidered polo top, a transitional cardigan and a pair of red socks, all toned down with a pair of crisp white shorts. I also plan to wear these sneakers with wide and flowy trousers as I think theyll look awesome together.
Sizing and fit: Generally speaking, I tend to size down by a whole size when it comes to designer footwear granted, the majority of my footwear collection consists of leather boots. However, I only sized down by 0.5 when it came to the Gucci Rhyton sneaker and they fit perfectly. After wearing them a handful of times, the canvas quickly softened and moulded to my feet now theyre an absolute dream to wear.
