Ive had mine for years and theyve all held up incredibly well even though Ive worn them a ton. If you foresee yourself wearing them a few times a week, theyre definitely worth buying. I think its also important to note that these sneakers are hand made with high-quality Italian leather, which also justifies the higher price point. With athleisure and comfort dressing being here to stay, you really cant go wrong with high-quality, designer sneakers that will elevate your look.

Why Would Anyone Want To Spend That Kind Of Money On Shoes That Are Already Dirty
- Trust me, this was my biggest question. If I was going to spend a fortune on a pair of shoes, I wanted them to be crisp, clean and basically dipped in gold.haha! Joking but not The fact of the matter is that this is whats trending in fashion at the moment and to be honest, I actually love having the sneakers a little distressed. Check The Insoles Of Your Golden Goose Sneakers
As for the last step of the authenticity check process of the Golden Goose sneakers, well take a look at the insoles of the shoes. As always, lets see the reference real vs fake Golden Goose sneakers pictures:
First, you will notice the big SUPERSTAR text thats printed on the black rectangle. The fake Golden Goose insole has this text too big compared to the legit SUPERSTAR text.
In order to check the size of the SUPERSTAR text, you can look at the edges of the black rectangle and then at the text itself.
The fake SUPERSTAR text almost touches the edges of the black rectangle, while the legit text is smaller and its not as close as the fake text to touch the edges of the rectangle.
The same problem applies even to the text below Golden Gooses logo, but here, we have even another flaw.
The fake GOLDEN GOOSE DELUXE BRAND VENEZIA text is also too thick on the fake Golden Goose pair insole.
As for the last spot to look at on the Golden Goose insole, you can see how the fake MADE IN ITALY text is, again, too big, while the legit pair has this text smaller.
The Biggest Problem With Golden Goose Sneakers
I had shared on Instagram Stories that I saved up to get a pair of Golden Goose sneakers. I have been drooling over them for months and have read SO MANY blog posts about the pros and cons.

How Do Golden Goose Sneakers Fit
Golden Goose tend to be wider than other sneakers, and the sneakers have a taller leather insole that provides better cushion and comfort. If you already have a pair, did you notice you felt a bit taller, putting on these shoes?
This height advantagethe stiletto of sneakers if you willis one reason Golden Goose is so popular, but it also affects the sizing and fit:
- Golden Goose shoes come in whole sizes only
- Due to an approximately 3 to 5 cm difference in heel height, which slightly shrinks the length of the foot overall, as well as the width of the shoe, it is advised to size down to the nearest whole size if you are in-between. Otherwise, they fit true to size.
- So if you typically wear a US 7.5 womens, it is best to order a US 7 in Golden Goose, a.k.a. an IT 37.
- If you usually wear a US 8, order a US 8 a.k.a. an IT 38. The same applies for men.
Are Golden Goose Worth It
I know I dont have to preface this but it will be relative. Epidurals arent worth it to some women and to some they are the only way theyd give birth. If you usually budget around $100-$120 on a pair of stylish sneakers, and you wear sneakers at least 3 to 4 times a week, they are worth it in my opinion. Okay, big price jump, Katey. Hear me out. Its your cost per wear combined with longevity. If you are a work-from-home gal or a mom at home and you find yourself only slipping on sneakers and the occasional flat for being out and about, these will last you such a long time. Ive bought $120 sneakers here or there since then, but I find myself repeatedly slipping on my Golden Goose. I probably wear my GG 300 days a year, so instead of buying random $70 flats repeatedly, I wear these. In the past 3 years Ive bought less shoes total, than I normally would. So for me, a mama that lives in sneakers, these are completely worth it. Id rather wear a pricier sneaker 300 days a year, than a $60 flat that I wear 5 times a year. Plus, you can grab them on sale.

Well, its finally here my fashion sneaker review and comparison! Ive been teasing this post for a while, and I finally have it ready to go.
As always with this type of post, I always wish I had tried more styles, but as it is I compared 9 pairs of fashion sneakers ranging from $65 to $550, and these are the results.
First, a little back story. You should have known, right? I always have a story.
Ive tried many fashion sneakers over the years and styled quite a few for the blog, but in actuality, I rarely wear them. I like the idea of a fashion sneaker, but I almost always reach for a pair of ballet flat or loafers or flat boots with my casual outfits. The exception is when I wear a sweatshirt and jeans, and then I feel like sneakers are in order.
Lately, though, Ive been noticing a lot of the bloggers I follow for fashion inspiration trading in their booties and loafers for fashion sneakers and wearing them with jeans and sweaters and other casual-but-not-sweatshirt-like tops. I like the juxtaposition of the athletic footwear with street clothes, and the look is growing on me.
My go-to sneakers for quite some time have been the Converse Shoreline, and I still like them, but theyre beginning to look dated to me.
What I have in mind is a white leather sneaker, and ideally Id find one with some metallic or black accents so theyre not quite so stark, but plain white is okay too.
Lets get started!
How Golden Goose Sneakers Are Made
On any given pair, the right shoe may not match the left shoe perfectly, and this is intentional. They are usually similar in terms of marks and distressing , but the patterns are not always identical. See the photos above and below for more detail.
Keep in mind that the presentation and storage box is sometimes distressed as well and varies by model. This is important to note because this is not a defect or damage from shipping and handling.
Youll also notice the interior lining, which is not smooth leather or unvarnished suede leather, but rather a loopback cotton toweling material, which makes the shoes warm in the winter and cool in the summer for your feet. This is also a purposeful design feature so your sneakers are pleasant to wear year-round.
These are all subtle design cues that make Golden Goose sneakers so special.

Golden Goose Sneaker Sizing
One of the most asked question I have regarding any of my Golden Goose sneakers are, “do Golden Goose sneakers run true to size?” or “how to Golden Goose sneakers fit?” The answer is true to size. I’m a small US 8.5. I wear a 38 in both the PURESTARS and Superstars. Since Golden Goose sneakers only come in whole sizes, I opted to size down since I typically don’t wear socks with them, and keep them loosely tied. However, if you’re between sizes and wear no-show socks or tend to size up in sneakers, then I would size up! To play it safe you can always order both sizes and send back the one that doesn’t fit best. After you know your Golden Goose sneakers size, they are all consistent between styles.

Can You Compare Them To Vejas
I find my Vejas to run small and have more cushion, but I have only owned them about a month so I cant speak to what they look like in 4 years. I think if you are more classic, these are fantastic. Some people said the tongue was stiff and irritated them, but it didnt bother me and I never had to break mine in.
So Why Are Golden Goose Sneakers So Expensive
In short, it comes down to these simple factors:

Would You Recommend Them
Yes! But I have a caveat to this I would try to find them on sale if you can. I think there are too many opportunities to get them on sale that its almost not worth it to buy them full price. Not to mention that theyre also just extravagantly expensive for a sneaker . I do think theyre worth a few hundred dollars though, because I dont see them going out of style anytime soon, as theyre made by a brand with a strong history and I honestly just keep seeing them more and more. Plus, theyre so darn comfortable and well made in Italy!
Overall, I would suggest finding a pair that speaks to your style and that you know youd get a lot of wear out of so that your price per wear is low and you know youll want to wear them for years. For me that involved a pair with pink and glitter , but even a more ~subtle~ or neutral option might be a good option too!
